Hi. This is a journal.
So I was standing around with some friends... and jokes were being spun, and Aaron pulls out his guitar so I pull out my harmonica, and we just start a little dance session with everyone. Foot stomping hand clapping knee slapping dancing. Paul then remarks. "We're some of the greatest musicians, and here are we doing this."
And I thought to myself... what makes me so great?
Sometimes inbetween class, some classmates and I go jam together. (And dear God it's called jam for a reason) and now we have recurring faces.
Brandon - Brandon is the equivalent of a nerd except with music. He's a bass player. What motivates him the most in music is the composition. He likes multiple key signatures (6/8 - 7/4 - 9/8 -12/4 - 13/4), increases and decreases in tempo (70. 80. 90. 160. 200.), strangeness in sound altogether (blarg).
Vinny - Vinny is a good kid. ...

. He's never jammed before, and he's been playing guitar for 5 years. ...Supposedly. Sounds like 6 months. But hey, not everyone's got it. But man is he a good fellow. He laughs at everything, he's always wearing a smile. I swear it's hard not to be happy around him.
Rob - Rob is cool. Plays guitar. He's your normal average guitarist. He can play some good stuff, can do decent solos. Your normal guitarist. Yeah. Yada yada.
They're all real impressed with what I can do. Whether it be play guitar, drums, piano... whatever. They don't really have too much experience with recording, so I did some of that for them. It feels good to do what I know how to do, and do it good.
And yet... I thought to myself... what makes me so great?
(And yes. I go to a community college now. So I have classes. And stuff. >.>

I have a girlfriend. Her name is Rachel.

So I was sitting at home playing some guitar, and I realized what it is that makes me so "great".
I am a progressive musician.
Yep.
I'm writing a novel for this month, but not to enter NaNoWriMo. Ever read House of Leaves? I haven't. But I'm writing a novel in my style. I'm just using this month to push some pressure on me. It won't be 50,000 words. Like, not even close. But it's gonna be a novel. My novel.
Whoa.
...whoa.
